Pilates

At Willaston our Pilates programme is well established and very popular.

We offer both Body Control Pilates and APPI Pilates.

The sessions are very popular with both clinic patients who depending on their specific needs benefit from working on a particular aspect of Pilates  als wit  an healthy clients who see the benefit of improving their core stability and realigning their bodies.

Body Control Pilates is taught on a 1:1 basis or in a group class.  The 1:1 sessions last for 1 hour and the classes last for 55 minutes.  They are held in our specially built Pilates studios at Gateway House.

Val Jones instructs our Body Control Pilates class that is held at our Gateway House clinic on a Tuesday morning over 3 classes. The classes at Gateway House will contain no more than 7 clients.

The group classes are small to safeguard individual correction and instruction.  The classes are pre-bookable in a block of 6 weeks ensuring that you always have a place each week.

APPI Modified Pilates is taught by fully qualified physiotherapists Sue Coppack and Nicky Creighton who have done extensive training in Pilates.  It is used in the rehabilitation setting for people who have had pain and injuries or require specialist Physiotherapy attention.  Pilates is also a unique method of restoring strength, flexibility and function.

Our Pilates programme focuses on efficient and effective movement to produce core stabilisation, postural correction and sports specific movement patterns.  Exercises can also help you to improve your flexibility and co-ordination.

APPI Pilates is taught on a 1:1 basis or in a group class.  Both the 1:1 and the classes last for 1 hour and are held in our specially built Pilates studios at Willaston and Gateway House. The individual sessions are booked in advance and are available on a Monday morning at Gateway and a Friday afternoon at Willaston.

The group classes are small and contain no more than 8 clients to safeguard individual correction and instruction.  The classes are pre-bookable in a block of 6 weeks ensuring that you always have a place each week.  At the end of the 6 weeks you have the chance to rebook to maintain your place before it is offered to others.

Everyone joining Pilates is encouraged to have an initial 1:1 session with the physiotherapist to set out their treatment goals and ensure they understand the basic principles of the class.  This will guarantee you get the most out of the first set of classes.

Better Bones & Better Balance APPI Pilates is taught by our physiotherapist Sue Coppack in a group class, the classes last for 60 minutes.  They are held in our specially built Pilates studios at Gateway House. Better Bones Pilates will help combat the onset or progresion of Osteoporosis.
