Willaston Orthotics service offers a multi disciplinary approach to your care or your patient's care. 

The service works very closely with highly specialised therapists within the practice, to obtain the best rehabilitation programme and achieve a speedy recovery or return to normal activity.

What are Orthotics?

Orthotics are supportive braces and splints designed to alleviate joint problems and injuries.

Our Orthotist

Ian Spencer is a highly respected Orthotist who has worked within the NHS for more than 25 years and is currently Head of Orthotic Services at a local NHS Trust.

He provides clinical advice to The Health Care Commission (NICE) on the provision of Orthotic care in the U.K. Ian is currently working with The Department of Health as a consultant helping to redesign the delivery of Orthotics within the NHS.  He is committed to using the latest technologies to promote the advancement of patient care.

Ian brings his experience and these innovative techniques to Willaston Orthotics Service. His specialist skills and interests include:

•    Sports Orthotics
•    Lower Limb Biomechanics
•    Treatment of Lower Limb Spacticity
•    Medilogic Gait Analysis
•    Custom Knee Bracing including skiing braces

The clinical conditions that may be treated using orthotics could include:
•    Sports Injuries
•    Foot pain and postural problems; ie. metatarsalgia Plantar Fascitis
•    Knee pain due to patella tracking
•    Shin pain, i.e. shin splints
•    Tendonitis
