Our Clinical Staff

Managing partners Judith Callow and Pamela Gardiner lead the practice. They are both Chartered Physiotherapists of over 25 yrs.

There 8 other practitioners who have many years of clinical experience. We work closely with our local health care professionals both within and outside the clinic.

We also provide full medical support to Cheshire Jets Basket ball  team, Cheshire County rugby union teams and the British Olympic Rowing Squad.

Judith Callow
Judith CallowI am one of the two partners at Willaston Physiotherapy clinic having worked there since it opened in 1990. I qualified from Coventry in 1983 and from there spent 5yrs at Walton Hospital in Liverpool. I then came to the Wirral to work at BUPA Murrayfield Hospital specialising in the treatment musculo-skeletal problems.

I have been a credentialed member of The Mckenzie Institute since 1998 which has further developed my interest in the treatment of acute and chronic spinal problems. To compliment this I have gone on to qualify in Acupuncture and Muscle Imbalance techniques which gives me plenty of tools to tackle the problem of spinal pain.

Pamela Gardiner

Pamela Gardiner
Qualifying in 1978 at Liverpool I started my career in the NHS at Leighton Hospital. I had a short period working in Bahrain where my interest in rugby flourished watching the Dubai 7s. Returning to the Wirral in 1994 I joined Judith at the Willaston Clinic.

My interest in sports medicine has continued with my involvement with Cheshire RFU and the GB Rowing team. I was honoured to attend the Athens Olympic Games as 1 of the physiotherapists to the rowing squad and work regularly with the senior squad during the year. Although I have a specific interest in sports rehab, I also treat any condition of joints and spine which have been caused by acute or chronic muscle imbalance problems.

Carole Burton
Carole Burton Since training in Sheffield I've worked at the Royal Liverpool Hospital and local hospitals before starting work at the clinic in 2000. I'm a member of the Manipulation Association and Chartered Physiotherapists (M.A.C.P) and use manual therapy for the treatment of both peripheral and spinal conditions.

I also use acupuncture for the relief of pain in musculo-skeletal conditions and have an interest in pain management. More recently I have furthered my interest in the area of muscle imbalance and muscle energy techniques.

Sue Coppack Susan Coppack
I qualified from St Thomas Hospital, London in 1980 and after a short period working in London I went out to Toronto, Canada to work in a specialist rehabilitation centre.

I returned home in 1984 to get married and subsequently have my children. I continued my career at Walton and Alder Hey Childrens Hospital in Liverpool.

Since 1990 I have concentrated on Out-patients and treatment of spinal problems using McKenzie Regimes of treatment.

Linda Johnson
Linda JohnsonI qualified from Sheffield Hallam when it was still a polytechnic !!!

I worked at Broadgreen and Wigan Hospitals before specialising in out patients while working at BUPA Murrayfield Hospital. I have done post graduate courses in Mckenzie Diagnosis and treatment and Cyriax Orthopaedic courses.

In recent years I have developed an interest in the treatment of Stress Incontinence in Women and the clinic now has the latest myomed equipment which provides advanced diagnosis and treatment for these problems.

Gary Stevens Gary Stevens
Previous to being a physiotherapist, I played professional football for Everton and England. I qualified in 2002 from Salford University favouring Musculo-Skeletal problems and I joined the team 3 years ago on a part time basis as well as working at a local hospital. I am also qualified in pain relief through Acupuncture.

Emma BellewTanya Booth
Having qualified from Manchester School of Physiotherapy in 2003 I spent 2 years at Wythenshaw Hospital followed by ayear at Royal Liverpool Hospital specialising in Musculo-skeletal conditions.

I also have a degree in Sports Science and am qualified in Cyriax Orthopaedic Medicine and Acupuncture. Currently I am completing Pilates training.

My main interest lies in sports injury rehabilitation and prevention. I am a member of the ACPSM.

Tanya Booth

I qualified from Salford University in 1998 and have worked in the Wirral  area ever since.
My special interest is in treating a wide range of sports related musculoskeletal injuries and have a particular interest in spinal pain. This has been the basis of my Masters degree in Manual therapy which I have just completed.

When not working I enjoy the outdoors and am a passionate skier – the steeper and deeper the better.

 

Paul Rushton
I qualified from Salford University in 1998 after a four year part time degree. I then initially worked at Warrington General where I completed my general rotation and developed my interest in the treatment of Musculo-skeletal injuries.

I further developed my skills by working in both the NHS and private practice.

I currently specialise in Lower Limb rehabilitation and hope to keep developing my skills at Willaston.

Debbie Grieve Debbie Grieve
I have been employed at Willaston Physiotherapy Clinic since 2000. Being the only administrator in a team of 7 can be both busy and rewarding.

Previous to joining the practice, I served in the Womens' Royal Air Force as a supplier. I am married with 2 children.

I am also a qualified aerobics instructor teaching at various health clubs in Wirral.
